If you highlight a word, then right-click it, you get an option entitled "Web search for", it opens a new tab and does a google search for the word, very handy methinks

sweet. ive changed my google toolbar to the .co.uk one rather thatn .com
i assume everyone knows how to do this but if not i'll post it
love the way you can drag links onto the toolbar as well as desktop items - it soo cool

just installed Mozilla Amazon Browser from
http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/#mozamazon , tis really handy, now i just need to figure out how to get a button for it on the toolbar

click on the G in the google bar then click on add engines and there are loads to add

there's no Add engines option on mine? You mean the googlebar builtin to firefox yeah? what version of firefox you using?

there is a google toolbar already built in but it's the .com one - if i click on the G symbol in the toolbar i get the option to add more

just realised i was trying to right-click it, when you actually need to left-click it! problem solved!

If I click manage bookmarks I can sort them say alphabetically, if I open the bookmark windows (ctrl + b) the list is sorted alphabetically. However when I click bookmarks from the menu bar its sorted by dated added I think, any ideas how to get it alphabetically. In IE you just r click|sort by name.
On closer inspection of the Extensions list I found this

but if you click on the icon in bottom-left corner of Firefox (only appears when it's blocked a popup), you can set it to allow popups from that site
