Litestep

Post by arfur »

seeing Kev's litestep desktop, I have had a google and found a few sites.

Where did you get your version from? Where is a good guide to using it?

I have downloaded a version and played with few themes and want to know a bit more.

FFs I just typed a load of handy stuff for you and then accidentally clicked close tab when I went to get a URL for you :arse:

Basically, follow the install guide here: http://www.ls-themes.org/index.php?cat= ... show=howto

That's the best way to get the latest build installed and set up to your liking. Also on that site are a few good themes, however I found the one called Smoked Glass kept breaking my install, forcing an uninstall and a reinstall to sort the mess out. Found some really good themes at deviantart.com, just need to make sure they're OST2 compliant :)

the theme i'm currently using is called NonStep, and is here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/10068332/

There are some nice themes out there. Trying to get some of the modules running on them that aren't included.

Keep crashing it though as I'm not too sure what I'm doing :bozz:

y'mean the modules that it specifies it needs when switching themes? if so, they should auto-download (as long as your firewall isn't blocking the download program, as mine was originally), there are a few that don't, you should be able to manually download those from here: http://www.ls-universe.info/page.php?3 just download the zips, extract them to c:/litestep/modules (unless it specifies otherwise in the readme), then right-click the failed download, browse to the newly-downloaded file, select it and then back in the download screen click the download button again.... bob is possibly your mother's brother :)

sussed that one. It's when the module is not included and I'm editing the theme file to open it :)

arf mate, I'm finding that since installing LS, my screensaver kicks in when watching video on my PC (even in full-screen) - have you come across this?

edit: sorted that, installed the systemevents-0.2 and scrsaver-1.3 modules and used them to disable screensaver whenever an app goes fullscreen, and re-enable it when the full-screen app closes :stu

My screensaver is disabled so no. Glad you have found a fix.

I am having a few issues but am not sure if its not my PC rather than litestep. The hard drive is full again.
