k i registered but after registering i get redirected to a dead link. if i click the tracker bit it tells me all the info its gathering and if i dont like it please leave now - how rude.

aprt form the the style of ur new site id the best yet. are u on broadband now chris?

tbh chris i preferred the last incarnation, but u change it so often i cant keep up anyway!

BTW, cheers for the dead link report, Have fixed that. There are some new features on the site now, you can now set the login to remember you... hopefully will have some proper member stuff there soon...


BTW, if anyone wants a link, just suggest it and ill put it up! (do a search first to check it isn't already there)

ok well there is a tracker option on the bottom of ur site which says:

This is the information that I gather:


Time and date of visit
Your IP Address
The country which you are visiting from (courtesy of http://www.ip-to-country.com)
Your Screen resolution
Whether you have javascript enabled or not
The Page you are currently visiting
The referrer who sent you here

This information is mostly to help me see the diversity of users which visit the site, and to help me see which technologies to design my site and scripts for.

I will shortly be making this script available to download in the scripts section, as soon as I have finished tweeking it. If you want, you can download the beta source here.

the data he's collecting is no different from what a standard counter collects anyway, u get all that info with a free counter from bravenet, should i be showing that message on my site?

no dont thinks so as all sites collect that data? maybe i need a privacy policy then?

Most sites should have a privicy policy, especially if you collect information...
