Go for a cheap P800 or an expensive P900?

Hi guys, long time no post.

I havent been paying attention to the mobile sites for a while but recently I decided that the P800 I have been intending to get is already being superceded.

This puts me in a bit of a situation, should I get a cheap (?100) P800 shell out for a (?300) P900 or wait till the P900 drops in price and maybe end up in the same situation again with the "new" P168163221 or whatever comes out next.

(I currently have a T68i)

What would you guys do?

If I could afford it, I'd certainly go for the P900 :)

Just a wild guess: nov or dec.

What you wanna consider: does the P800 have everything ant/need? If yes... buy it already! :)

If you wanna spend more money on a basic same phone with nicer looks, a video app and possible start up bugs... be my guest :) (to be completely honest with you: if I had the money I'd get the P900 as well ;) )

Waht exactly are the features you're after?

oh: i almost forgot: waiting is sorta useless..... by the time you waited long enough there will be something else out and you'll want that....

Effectively I am after a phone that does everything my T68i does + PDA functionality + geek bragging rights.

I think the P800 does all that but I will loose some of the bragging rights of the P900 :(

the p800 does far more than i ever need, i love it dearly but my next phone will have to be a lot lot smaller. the p800 is great but it is too big for everyday use. i imagine for p900 will be pretty big as it doesnt look that much smaller.

what im getting at is that if u can get a p800 for ?100 then its less of a costly way of finding out the phone is too big and has too many useless features u will never ever use or u could pay an extra ?200 for a phone thats isnt much better but has 2 or 3 more features u will never use.

if i knew what i knew now and i was in ur situation i would get a p800 and a T630 or eqiuvelant. love having my p800 as i say but my t68i is getting dated so come new yr i'll be getting a much smaller phone for everyday use and use my p800 for work i think

edit: most of the people i know with a p800 got bored of it very rapidly. kev doesnt use his much, eamonn uses he t68i again and mixin painted his pink. point is everyone went on about how u should get the amazing p800 and u wont regret it yet most of them did :P

just food for thought ;)

i don't regret buying P800, but i defo wouldnt buy one now. as ed said i dont use mine as much as i used to (altho i do surf the forums a lot on it, as its easier than tapping the buttons of a normal fone). i prolly wont be getting a p900, but if i didnt have the P800 already and was thinkin bout it now i'd wait for P900

Kev if you really feel the urge to waste money you can just deposit it to me mate. No problems there

Me... not having a P atm, i'd buy either one. Then probably stick with it for 5 yrs or so...simply because I prolly don't NEED to upgrade it anyway :P

ed what i meant was if i didnt already have the P800 (i.e. wouldnt know what i know now), i'd get the P900 coz i love new technology

Hmmm tricky.

I think I will be going for a second hand P800, I dont think I could get another phone first, I will always be wondering about the phone that slipped away ;)

BTW Vodafone upgrade to P800 6 mths ago = ?250
two days ago = ?330
yesterday = ?360

go figure :arse:

Does anyone here wish to sell their P800?

allegedly i hear they are going to stop phone upgrade discounts permenantly very soon. therefore there will be no phone price subsidising at all :arse: this could be why the price is starting to rise :?:
