SiteAdvisor browser plugin lets you know if a site is safe

Found this free handy browser plugin that shows whether a website is safe to browse on your pc via a colour-coded icon on the toolbar, it also rates everything found in a google/yahoo search. It's available for IE & FF and it's in development for other browsers too :)

Guru4u.co.uk is rated as green=safe :stu

Saw that the other day but since a reformat I haven't bothered reinstalling it - its a great one for un-net-savvy people, but at the end of the day, common sense beats any computer program... Nice idea though, and well executed...

i agree chris, unfortunately tho 98% of computer users seem to lack the mystical art of 'common sense', so there's a big market for siteadvisor!

Indeed, last week I had had someone uninstalling outlook because "it didn't work" and then complaing that they couldn't get email!
