Barry,

have managed to look at all of them bar the sony, and can suggest 2 things.

1. The 3gig Fujitsu siemens is fine for replacing a desktop let alone being a secondary system, only downside is that cos of the P4 it will have a battery life of about 10 mins, and will produce enugh heat to cater for a 3rd world country. Other than the 2 negative issues, buy buy buy

2. The Voyager is 1500 Mhz SLOWER (not good if your gonna be doing any gaming or video editing etc on it, as my old XP2000 (1.67 Ghz) died when trying, and this ones slower. Might be wrong tho as its the M version (if i read correctly) and im not sure how they perform in comparison to normal cpus. Good thing about it being an M series CPU is the fact that its designed for use in a laptop, meaning that it will have good battery life.

Hope this helps mate

I think the best thing to do would be to think about what your going to be using it for, then look for suitable equipment. Im happy to help if you get stuck :-)

I would recommend the M series processors for a lappy, i just bin reading some comparison charts and battery life seems loads better than the Pentium equivalent

i would go for the fujitsu personally. best spec and surely the p4 would be a mobile p4 and therefore better battery life? anyway that has the best spec. forget the sony imo - tend to pay for the name. the evesham looks ok but expensive

It depends on how much CAD work you do really, as CAD absolutely eats graphics power and memory. My mate has resorted to fitting a CAD card to his desktop, and it works fine now, but it was dying a painful death before.

Like pino, i prefer good old desktop bound boxes of fun, as the components arent necessarily that expensive, and you can cater for your needs.(or be a ponce like me and buy stuff cos its cool)
